New research shows that telecommuting also known as “work from home” continues to increase and is slated to grow even more in the future. That should make home buyers pay attention because a higher demand for bigger homes will put upward pressure on prices. Working from home means homeowners must have the additional space for home-office activities to make telecommuting a reasonable endeavor. Two separate phenomena are occurring that may continue to make bigger homes an attractive option for homebuyers: 1. increase in telecommuting, and 2. an increasing number of seniors choosing to remain in their homes rather than down-sizing. More seniors are staying put in their home for various reasons including wanting to have more room for visiting grandchildren and other relatives and also to remain footed in their own communities.
